Ayurveda in February
Detoxifying and Cleansing
Did you know that the name of the month February derives from the Latin word februare, meaning “to purify”? According to the ancient Roman calendar, February was the last month of the year and was celebrated mid-month with a purification ritual. In February, milder temperatures already announce the end of winter. Take some time before the warm months begin to let go of the old and to welcome spring feeling relaxed and reenergized. An Ayurvedic detox treatment is just right to achieve this.
Ayurveda on the highest level
As a holistic medicine, Ayurveda rests on four basic pillars: Apart from massages, diet and spiritual yoga practice, detox techniques constitute a central element of Ayurveda. This cleansing is also called Panchakarma, which translates to “five procedures”.
Detox with Ayurvedic methods
In our modern day and age, our bodies are constantly confronted with toxins, be it environmental pollutants or unhealthy substances in foods, but also mental burdens and stresses. In most cases we only become aware of these harmful substances if too many accumulate in the body and cause symptoms of different sorts. One of the purposes of Ayurveda is to drain your body of these toxins.
Many methods to cleanse the body of toxins exist, some of which take some getting used to. Internal treatment forms include for example diet and enemas; external treatments include massages, steam baths and oil treatments by pouring oil over the forehead.
Consultation with Ayurveda experts
At the beginning of every Ayurveda treatment a thorough, personal consultation with an Ayurveda doctor takes place. During this consultation your constitutional type is identified, which is made up of the mixture of the three life energies Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Depending on your individual constitutional type, different Ayurvedic methods are suitable for you.
You will see for yourself that after an Ayurvedic detoxification you will literally feel relieved. Return to everyday life feeling like a new person, fully reenergized. The positive effects of your Ayurveda treatment will stay with you for the next weeks and months.
