Hiking in the „Weinidylle“ South Burgenland
Hike to the wine region Csaterberg
Starting from the Castle in Kohfidische you hike along a shadowy forest path to the wine region Csaterberg. Along the way you pass the chapel and the mausoleum of the aristocratic family Erdödy. The little but exquisite wine region Csaterberg invites you to take a closer look and a visit to a wine tavern. A visit to the „stone museum“ is also recommended. A circular hiking trail, that leads almost in an 8-way loop trough the Strem valley and over the vineyards in Heiligenbrunn. From the parking lot you start into the open Strem valley with view of the place and the vineyards and then again over Heiligenbrunn to the Zeinerberg. Here you can visit the historic wine cellars with the straw thatched roofs. A short stretch of walk brings the hiker pack to the parking lot.
